8-Bit Alucard's Classic Games

I will occasionally upload gameplay videos on this web site's official YouTube channel, as proof of compatibility for some of these games. I will also embed YouTube videos showing FC Twin compatibility that my friends have done. I'm doing this to show that they in fact do, or do not work on the FC Twin console. Specifically the titles that people have claimed compatibility, contrary to my tests. I have decided to do this so that people like yourself, who visit here, feel more comfortable in the legitimacy of my test results and will continue to come here for reliable facts instead of speculation or rumors.

Please also see my Compatibility Disclaimer near the bottom of this page to better understand why games do, or do not work in the FC Twin. That bit of information is VERY important to help you understand why it works the way it does and what you can do, to prevent picking up a "busted" cartridge.

Also, I feel the need to point out that though I am a Wikipedia source of information, they allow users to add and edit things without proof, which is sometimes done for reasons that are not always scrupulous. Also, the fact that users edit things means that the versions of my charts that they have, are not always going to be the way I wrote them, even though it violates my Creative Commons License which I placed on some of this stuff to prevent false info from getting around. There will be discrepancies, so please remember that if you want REAL test results, then you need to look nowhere else on the internet but right here. Not that Wikipedia is a bad thing. To the contrary, I believe Wikipedia is a wonderful tool for web surfers to find information, or at least references to the information that they are looking for. Now, on to the charts.

To provide you a better scope of what we are actually ABLE to test, here's the math. There are 785 licensed titles, and 91 unlicensed titles in the NES library in the US and PAL regions, and a whopping 1,055 titles for the Famicom system from Japan. That's just NES / Famicom titles. The SNES has 784 official releases with 251 titles exclusive to the US and 63 titles exclusive to Europe. The Super Famicom has 1,442 games for the SFC library and 231 on the Satellaview. That's a total of 4,388 games to test.

I've tested over 200 games, and still counting.

Will every game be tested eventually?

It's NEVER going to happen.

Below the Charts, you will see a section that will explain the letter / number combinations (such as A1 or B3) you might see in the "NOTES" section of each tested game. Now please keep in mind that there are thousands of games in the Nintendo and Famicom libraries. So not every game has been tested, let alone by just me and my friends. So though you will see MANY games listed as Untested, that doesn't mean those games will or will not work. This list is just what I have tested or one of my partners have tested. I will NEVER say a game works, just because some person on the internet says it does. Why? Because that's not good enough for me. Every game that I say is compatible or not compatible, has been tested by me, or one of my friends. That's a promise!

I WILL NOT PUT A GAME ON THE COMPATIBLE LIST UNLESS I HAVE TESTED IT, OR ONE OF MY FRIENDS HAS TESTED IT.

FYI, the term "3rd Party" refers to a personal friend of mine, or a reliable and honest source. Either way I have seen the game tested on their console with my own eyes as I said before.

A1: This game was tested by me and / or a 3rd party and plays flawlessly.

A2: This game was tested by me and / or a 3rd party and is not compatible.

A3: This game was tested by me and shown to NOT work, however was tested by a 3rd party and shown to work.

A4: This game was tested by me and shown to work just fine, however a 3rd party test shows game is NOT compatible.

A5: This game was tested by me, and has either minor sound differences, or minor visual differences (such as color) that usually only obsessed players will notice.

A6: This game was tested by me and / or a 3rd party and has obvious differences or flaws which may effect play for some.

A7: This game was tested by me and / or a 3rd party and is compatible however it has major errors / glitches that effect play.

B1: This game was tested by me and / or a 3rd party and requires a Nintendo brand accessory that is NOT compatible with the FC Twin.

B2: This game was tested by me and / or a 3rd party and requires a Nintendo brand accessory that is compatible with the FC Twin.

B3: This game was tested by me and / or a 3rd party and requires an accessory that is available from Yobo.

B4: This game was tested by me and / or a 3rd party and requires an accessory NOT available from Yobo.

B5: This game was tested by me and / or a 3rd party and has an expansion chip that is sometimes not compatible with, or completely incompatible.

So, in a nutshell, buy your games with caution. If at all possible, test them on your system or console before you buy them. If ANY store that deals in second hand games refuses to let you try the game first, chances are that it doesn't work and they know it. In this case I recommend you ask about their Return Policy.

That being said, most places will let you return the game(s) within a very limited time period. The store I buy most of my old school Games from lets you return any defective games, so I don't need to worry. Flea Markets and places like Goodwill however might not let you test the games, so again, ASK about a Return Policy BEFORE you buy any game, console, or accessories.

CONTENT COPYRIGHT NOTICE: Many people have taken the compatibility lists that I have created and compiled myself, and used them without crediting me. Some have even claimed them and taken credit for creating them. This included Wikipedia, until I was verified and cited as the author and source.
